Ornate and Regal Medallion Tabriz rug from Persia, rug d-0536, country of origin / type: Iran / Tabriz, circa 1920.

This regal carpet features a circular, script-style medallion, displaying various floral motifs and complemented by two stretched palmettes at either end. The dark pink field hosts a swirling garden of vining flowers and is held in place by flattering blue cornices. The inner and outer guards contain a running pattern of flowers, while the inner border displays a variety of alternating palmettes and swept leaves.
