Measures: 9’8 x 11’4.
Serapi rugs represent the finest grade of rugs made in the Heriz and surrounding areas. At the center of the rug lies a rich orange field containing a cruciform medallion in blue. Undulating blue-green corner pieces fill out the field with elaborate arabesque detail, and dynamic branches occupy the intervening orange ground. A complex ‘turtle’ vine-scroll border is in a navy blue color.
