Antique rugs woven by the Afshar tribe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries were made in south central Persia. This wool foundation rug is of unusually squarish size and features a polychromatic tribal design in shades of blue, red, green, yellow and ivory. A “Reciprocal Trefoil” border frames the field.
