This remarkable Antique Persian Serapi Carpet bears a remarkable geometric design paired with a complimentary earthy palette. Three columns of attractive geometric medallions run the entire length of the central field; two rows of stretched star medallions on either side and one row of serrated diamond medallions running through the center. The remaining field is filled with an array of various geometric motifs such as stars, arrows, acanthus leaves, trees of life and pomegranates. Diminutive cornices with similar decorative elements hold their place within the four corners of the field. The surrounding border is composed of a highly stylized intertwined tendril and stem pattern complimented by floral and pomegranate motifs, while the inner and outer guards display a lovely repeating pattern of three leaf clovers.
