This amazingly delightful antique Sultanabad/Ziegler rug from late 19th century Persia features a classic Persian design with arabesque and vine scrolls that sprawl beautifully across an unusual and lovely field of blue. The rich colors of brown, red and green in the floral border stand in stark contrast to the blue field, creating a simultaneous sense of division and unity. The impeccable, finely detailed line work throughout this elegant Sultanabad is a testament to the artistic prowess of its makers. Other colors include cerulean blue, rose, pink, yellow, cream, camel and light blue.
